about this project

A two-part portraiture project exploring unconventional approaches to representing identity and the subject. Still Life of a Restless Mind uses a chaotic domestic environment to externalize creative tension, while Patchwork Personality uses photo manipulation and fragmented styling to explore identity through fashion, multiplicity, and self-expression.

process & references

Each half of the project started as its own concept board—"Place & Identity" for the domestic-chaos direction, "Alter-Ego" for the fragmented-styling direction—before moving into shoot planning. References for composition, lighting, styling, color, and photographic treatment were gathered for each concept, informing the environments, poses, wardrobe, and image-making approach. The resulting images were developed through direct flash photography, saturated color treatment, and digital manipulation to reinforce the distinct visual language of each direction.
